About Me:![]()
Currently,I am working as a Senior Software Engineer in the Data Modeling Group with Siebel Systems in San Mateo, CA. Siebel is the world's leader in developing Customer Relationship Management Applications. I have been with Siebel Systems since that last 3 years. Before joining Siebel, I had graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in May 2001 with a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and also another Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
I was born in a village named Madugula located in the Vishakapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. I have lived a major portion of my life, till my high school, in a small, steel township in Orissa in India. It is called Rourkela --- a very calm and serene place. My father has all along been working at Rourkela Steel Plant , an integrated Steel Plant under the organization of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and this gave me an insight into technology and machinery. This insight developed my interest in pursuing a career in Engineering. I did my schooling at one of the best schools in Rourkela, Ispat English Medium School , the memories of which I cherish a lot.
The exposure that I had during my school days led me to pursue a career of Bachelors in Civil Engineering at Regional Engineering College, Rourkela in the year 1994-95. Meanwhile, I was also trying to get through the rigorous but prestigious Indian Institute of Technology's Joint Entrance Examination, 1995-96. With the help of hard work, determination and of course, the grace of god, I managed to get through the JEE and went to Indian Institute of Technology, Powai , at Bombay to pursue my Bachelors of Technology in Civil Engineering in the Fall of 1995. The following four years turned out to be the most memorable times of my life.
Immediately after entering IIT, studies unfortunately took a back stage. I gradually got interested in the various extra curricular activities taking place at IIT, Bombay. The chief activities among them being Performing Arts Festival and Mood Indigo. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the Performing Arts Festival or PAF as it is commonly called. The thing I like most about PAF is the Productions. I was incharge of Productions of my hostel for two years. Besides PAF, I was also greatly involved with Mood Indigo (MI, as it is commonly called), the premier cultural youth festival of India. I was involved as the Coordinator and later as Core Group Member for MI'97.
I was also the Organizational Secretary of the hostel for one year besides winning Organizational Colors for three consecutive years from 1997 to 1999. I also represented my hostel in Hockey for three years. Four dream years of growing up in the world all by myself, making new friends, discovering new things, taking challenges and adventures and of course, not forgetting my studies. All in all, a valuable four years of stay at one of the prestigious schools in India.
Having graduated in the spring of 1999, I was all ready to set my foot on the land of United States of America, for my Masters in Civil Engineering , specialising in Transportation Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology , Atlanta , USA. I joined Georgia Tech in the fall of 1999 and graduated with a double Master's in the spring of 2001.
After graduation, I was all ready to set my foot in the land of techie geeks, Silicon valley in CA. I moved over to the bay area to work with Siebel Systems, the leader in enterprise software applications in USA.
Will keep you abreast of the future destinations in my voyage!! Stay tuned!!
